Daddy's in Town =]

Life continuously gets brighter these days! Although my Daddy's stay is only for a few days, I'm definitely making the best of it. Normally, Dad lives in Florida with his girlfriend Mori and her daughter Yoli, while I reside in the Bronx. Having Daddy around again is such an eye-opener, I really didn't realize how much I missed him until I had him back in my life again. And although spending quality time with him has cost me "valuable" homework time, I really don't have a care in the world when I walk with him peacefully down the streets of the city that never sleeps. Over a bacon omelette and soda on a chilly Thursday night, we grew even closer when I began to ask him random (and quite epic) questions, such as what he used to be and how he met my mom. The answers became the dinner table talk-of-the-night, being a Correction's Officer who recently retired and met my mom when working at a place like Caldor's. I also happened to learn something new that fateful night, and it just so happens to be that the root of the problems centers around one certain individual, and that certain individual only. But as for names, I guess I won't mention. I'll certainly miss the hell out of Daddy, he's one of the few adults I could trust with anything I have to say and most of all, I'll miss that fact that I will have to go back to not seeing him everyday. Well, let's see what the future holds for me in that department, but for now, how about a song of the moment?

Shock... Utter Shock.

Woah... today just wasn't my day, I guess. It wasn't epic in the slightest sense of the word. How can I describe today... devastating? Heartbreaking? Nevermind, I'm not that type of person. But it's so confusing... I'm so glad to have the friends I do, because other than just trying to cheer me up, they shared personal experiences and allowed me to vent... What an odd day it was. Not much of a reaction such as in a soap opera, but mildly contained... *Sigh* . After all, I guess it really didn't work out, but hey, what can you do once you get to that stage? Cry and mope about it?
That's not me.
That's not me AT ALL.
I've decided to take it in stride for the rest of the night, reflect a bit, talk a bit, and ponder intensively.

That's all for now.

The Three 'M's and Some Randomness

Ah, the Three 'M's. March, Mushu, and Manga. Well, that doesn't seem to make much sense when all used in one sentence, but in reality, they are all random aspects of life that all seemed to show up today. For the first M, March, I quickly realized that my dad will be coming over from Florida to spend some time with me around the 15th or so. If you don't see me or hear from me during that week, it's very likely that I'd be busy shooting pool, chillaxing with Yoli (my dad's girlfriend's daughter), or just spending some quality time with Dad. Quality time can mean anything from slurping chilly Piragua's on a warm day, relaxing under a cozy blanket while watching a movie, or chuckling at the simplest jokes. The second M, Mushu, relates back to my childhood buddy who just came back to school after spending an entire month in another country. I remember walking out of homeroom today and seeing her, hugging her for about 5 minutes straight, and repeatedly telling the principle: MUHSINA'S BACK =D !!! And lastly, I'm about to have an anxiety attack due to the third M. Manga happens to be one of my most favoritest things in the world (I used bad grammar there for a reason, that's how much I love manga!). The next volume of Negima hasn't been released yet, and I'm tired of waiting!!! Well, that's it for the three 'M's I guess, and to add a bit of variety to this somewhat nonchalant post, I'll begin adding "Songs of the Moment" . Basically, I'll pick a song that matches my mood, and whether you like it or not...well, that's just your opinion I guess. =]

A New Day, a Different Decade

I can't believe I forgot to blog about a certain special someone yesterday... (drum roll please...) Milo! My Jack Russel puppy who just turned a year old! Whether he's nibbling at my shoes, hopping in excitement when I come home from school, or sleeping on his back in a crazy position, Milo's personality never fails to please. Don't you just love people like that; no matter what time of year or situation they are in, you can always count on them to have a smile on their face? It's pretty sad that my best friend, who's exactly like that, has been in another country for about a month now =[ . But hey, there's no point in being depressed about such a fact, especially considering that she'll be back soon ^.^ . To take my mind off of a few things, I recently brought the Journey: Greatest Hits album. There's nothing like a little bit of Journey to make you feel epic again. Along with the Journey album, I also listened to about 3 different Dean Martin CD's, and wow, I mean WOW. Dean Martin's music is so free spirited and intellectual; it's quite riveting. The music industry today has become...how can I put this lightly, a boatload of crap? Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I wonder why some people tell me that I should have been born in a different time period... is that true? I've always been told that I'm mature for my age, well, at least by the adults who I seem most mature too. What an interesting remark...

First Post, Followed By A Snow Day

Ah, the first blog post. A feeling of... liberation? But nothing's quite as liberating as waking up to a blaring newscaster on a groggy Friday morning and learning that it's a Snow Day. Two snow day's in one school year; Bloomberg's quite the generous man I guess! As I toppled back into bed for another five hours of rest, there was no doubt in my mind that I would soon build the most epic snowman ever created, with the help of two colleagues of course. After waking up to the smell of corn muffins and coffee (Thanks, mom!), I put on my "construction worker" boots (as my dear friend likes to call them) and trekked into the white monster that was somehow considered 'snow'. My God, the snow was knee-deep, freezing, and falling at the speed of light! But I have to admit, nothing compares to cascading in mounds of freshly fallen snow, sliding down an icy slide while giggling like a child, or feeling the sting of snow that was just thrown at your backside. After a long, rambunctious hour of frolicking like 3 year-olds, we decided to get down to business and build this snowman of epic proportions. The only thing that got in our way were the icicles plummeting rapidly from the tree's ahead, but much was accomplished in that time period. For once, the snowman did not appear as a mound, but an actual figurine! What an achievement =] . Hopefully, I'll post a picture of it later in the week. Well, that's all for today's post, and on a final note, a regular day can always become more than expected, usually when you least expect it. Does that make any sense? I hope so. =]
